The opera singer thrifted the perfect dress for her show and was shocked to learn its true value later.

In a viral Reddit post, an unnamed user shared a picture of her high-end purchase.

She posed in a black full-length dress with a cutout detail at the chest.

The sleeveless gown also featured ruffled detailing along one of the hips.

In the picture caption, she revealed how much she paid for the classy dress.

The Redditor also shared the original cost of the designer item, which she discovered after purchasing.

"Guess who found this $1,000 Chiara Boni gown for $15 at Salvation Army," she wrote.

The Chiara Boni La Petite Robe is available for $995 from Saks Fifth Avenue.

After spotting the dress while shopping, she shared her surprise that it fit.

"I couldn’t believe it was exactly my size," she wrote in the comments section.

She described her high-end Salvation Army find as a "fortuitous moment."

She recalled the moment she realized how much the dress was actually worth.

"I had to google this at first too since I never shop at places like Saks and wasn’t familiar with the brand," she explained.

"I freaked out when I saw the price."

One Reddit user shared their similar experiences in the comments section.

"Nice score! I've only ever found Chiara Boni once, it was a blouse with sheer organza sleeves," wrote the reader.

"But, it was new with tags, and I found it at my bins.

"I saw the tag first as they were rolling out the bin, had to Google it, and then saw how expensive it was, and pounced on it as soon as I could go."

The Reddit user said they paid 80 cents for the item which retailed for $345.
