“He finished it off in style. I had a few chances and it got a bit closer towards the end but he deserved to win. He played much better than me.

  • Emotional Igor

The big Brazilian clearly overcome with emotion after an embrace with Ken Doherty there.

It obviously means so much to him and tears begin to flow.

A stunning week for the South American.

  • Ken Doherty 2-5 Igor Figueiredo

    HE'S DONE IT!

Igor Figueiredo is the World Seniors Snooker champion after a 5-2 win over Ken Doherty!

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-61)

Stunning stuff from Igor Figueiredo who moves 61 ahead with just 59 on the table.

He'll continue potting to make sure but that should be it for this match - and tournament!

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-30)

A string of misses comes to an end when the Brazilian sinks a long red into the left corner pocket.

He plays for the green and he'll look to come back down the table.

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-29)

    Doherty misses the red!

It's a tricky red for Figueiredo too and he misses too. Plenty oohs and aahs from the crowd.

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-29)

He well over-cuts the black Figueiredo! A good chance gone and Doherty has a long red on.

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-17)

He pots two reds in his very next shot.

Not just that, he's plum on the black too. This really looks a good chance.

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo (0-15)

Chance for Igor Figueiredo here with a bit of a split in the reds.

There looks to be eight reds free at the moment so a real frame-winning break can be scored here. But how's his nerve!?

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo

    Igor Figueiredo to break

  • Ken Doherty 2-4 Igor Figueiredo

And Doherty does take the frame from there.

Maybe there is some snooker left in this with the nerves just getting the better of Igor Figueiredo there.

Doherty takes full advantage and keeps this match alive. Remember, he still needs to win all of the next three frames.

  • Ken Doherty 1-4 Igor Figueiredo (60-26)

Nervy from Figueiredo there. Just the break of 26 before a missed red.

He took his time over that one, that's how you can tell he wasn't comfortable!

59 points still up for grabs but Doherty can claim this frame from here.

  • Ken Doherty 1-4 Igor Figueiredo (60-0)

Ohhh Ken! A smashing long red into the yellow pocket continues what looks like a frame-winning break.

After a colour, he has a simple red into the left corner pocket having opened up the reds but he somehow misses again. Again, missing by miles.

There's enough points out there for Igor Figueiredo but can he clean this up for the title!?

  • Ken Doherty 1-4 Igor Figueiredo (4-0)

Doherty with a snooker but Figueiredo has enough reds to hit when playing off the cushion.

He's a country mile short of reaching the pack though. Figueiredo didn't want to open the pack there but he's now left a red on for the Irishman!

  • Ken Doherty 1-4 Igor Figueiredo

Fortunate Figueiredo comes back to the table and clears up the remaining colours.

Incredible drama there but the Brazilian moves within one of victory!

  • Ken Doherty 1-3 Igor Figueiredo (44-49)

Major drama in the closing stages of this frame!

Figueiredo on the way to a frame-winning clearance before missing an easy, easy green.

The green is behind the brown but there's enough for Doherty to see it and he could step in and steal the frame.

But then Doherty MISSES it, leaving it over the pocket as it rattles the jaws! He's absolutely devastated.

  • Ken Doherty 1-3 Igor Figueiredo (44-16)

A huge opportunity goes for Doherty as a tricky long pot on a red into the yellow cushion misses.

And in truth, it missed by quite some way.

Can Figueiredo punish him now? There's plenty of points to play for still.
