Flying around the world to talk at conferences, and filming TV shows like Big Brother and Celebrity Fit Club mean Dr Linda Papadopoulos, 36, doesn’t get much time to enjoy her stunning apartment in Kensington, London.
But when she is home, Linda makes a beeline for the living room, where she curls up on the huge cream sofa with her daughter, Jessica, five.
“This is the place I can chill out and kick off my shoes,” she explains.
“Jessie and I really lose ourselves on the sofa. We cuddle up and watch The Simpsons.”
When Linda and her husband, investment banker Theo Pitsillides, 36, bought the apartment two years ago, they transformed it into a light, airy space with a minimalist laid-back Californian feel.
“For me, natural textures like wood and stone are really important – it must be my Greek-Cypriot heritage,” she says.
And the walnut floor is a throwback to Linda’s upbringing in Canada.
“I used to go to log cabins in the summer when I was a child and it brings back lovely memories,” she adds.
Their home is decorated with lots of photos of Jessie, as well as mementos from their travels.
“Theo and I both love art and try to pick up pieces whenever we go away.
"Sometimes they’ll be by top artists, other times just a local who’s caught our eye,” Linda says.
Dr Linda will be on ITV1 next month in the documentary Ann Widdecombe Versus The Diet Industry.

1. PICTURES “My daughter Jessica is my favourite subject to photograph – and I love all our black and white pictures of her.”
2. FOSSIL “This was a gift. The fact that it is hundreds of millions of years old fascinates me. I love having things in my home that have a story behind them.”
3. CAT ORNAMENTS “My cousin gave me one of these pieces after she came back from Austria. They’re by an artist called Tom Drag. I adore his stuff – it’s quirky and hilarious.”
4. SOFA “We went to a furniture show at Earls Court and fell in love with this sofa – even though it was £4,000! It’s so comfortable.”

* Don’t let someone else dictate your style. If you love kitsch, go kitsch; if you love minimal, go minimal.
* It’s nice to coordinate your home, but it shouldn’t stop you having fun and reflecting your personality. Even if you like muted shades, you can experiment with colour by hanging bright pictures or displaying ornaments.
* Maybe it’s the shrink in me, but I think it’s good to tell a story by using pieces that have special meaning.
