"Tina's headaches are a very common side effect of pregnancy, and are probably the result of increased oestrogen levels in her bloodstream.
The good news is that this is healthy. But as well as giving her that lovely glowing skin, pregnancy can also lead to nasal congestion and headaches. If Tina feels bunged up she could try nasal decongestant drops, but these headaches don't suggest migraine or anything terrible. She is drinking plenty of water, which is important to help avoid dehydration headaches, and it's great she's getting plenty of rest.
Since a woman's posture can change significantly during pregnancy, tension headache or neck strain might be to blame for the early morning pain. The odd paracetamol tablet is fine, but it's essential Tina gets her blood pressure checked at every antenatal appointment to rule out pre-eclampsia.
I'd advise Tina to put her feet up, get Oli to give her some gentle and relaxing massages, and forget about the chaos of Holby for a while."
"When I was pregnant with my daughter Isabella, who's now nine, I didn't suffer any of the horrible side effects of pregnancy - no cravings or morning sickness.
I became pregnant with my second baby last autumn, and although I'm relieved I haven't suffered from strange cravings or sickness, I have been getting terrible headaches.
Every day for the last seven months I've woken up in pain. The headaches are hard to describe, but it's the same feeling I used to get if I'd drunk a bottle of wine the night before - which now, of course, I haven't!
Thankfully the headaches aren't too debilitating, and they didn't stop me playing nurse Chrissie Williams in Holby City. I hoped they'd go away when I went on maternity leave last month and had more time to relax, but they haven't.
Usually the headaches last all day, and the only thing that shifts them is paracetamol. I know it's OK to take paracetamol while I'm pregnant, but I don't want to rely on it all the time.
My baby's due in April. During this pregnancy I've made sure I've got plenty of exercise, and since moving to the country with Isabella and my husband Oli Wheeler, a PR company director, we've gone organic, so we're eating healthily too. I drink lots of water because I know it's important to keep hydrated, especially when you're pregnant. I feel I'm rapidly running out of options. How can I get rid of these headaches?"
