MICHELLE
CARROLL, 33, FROM PRESTON
NOMINATED BY HER FIANCÉ GARY DAWSON
In 1996, Michelle was diagnosed
with Crohn’s disease, but
having this condition hasn’t stopped her from dedicating her life to
helping others. She works for children’s charity Barnados, she mentors a young boy in a children’s home and has also worked with Raleigh International on community projects in Borneo.
Proud fiancé Gary says: “She’s an inspiration to everyone who comes into contact with her.”
LINDA
GOODWIN, 49, FROM YORK
NOMINATED BY HER SON BEN
Linda Goodwin’s life is certainly busy! She runs the local mother and toddler group, helps out in the village charity shop and raises thousands of pounds for cancer charities, and that’s on top of caring for her elderly parents. And somehow she does it all with a smile and a spring in her step.
Son Ben says: “Mum may not have cured a disease or climbed Mount Everest, but she’s able to listen to others and help them, without ever wanting anything in return.”
SRI
SUDEVI, 65, FROM SHENLEY, HERTS
NOMINATED BY HER DAUGHTER RAJASANA OTIENDE
Sri brought up her daughter on her own and raised £1million to build a centre
to help people affected by alcoholism.
She’s also helped Rajasana turn her failing business into a profitable venture,
and is involved with several charities.
“I want Mum to know how much
I appreciate her,” says Rajasana.
