Dani Thompson drinks champagne like it’s house white, eats at restaurants where caviar and lobster are on the menu, and is a regular at exclusive beauty salons.
But although she lives the celebrity lifestyle, Dani isn’t a big star.
Her income is unpredictable.
Regardless of what she earns each month Dani’s penchant for designer clothes and socialising in expensive haunts means she is always in the red.
Regular overspending has landed Dani with more than £40,000 of debt at the age of just 24.
Virtually everything in her life is paid for on three credit cards that are now at their limit.
Debt is now a way of life for Dani, a model who lives in London.
She’s one of a growing number of women who spend far more than they earn in a desperate attempt to emulate the lives of the celebrities they see in papers and on TV.
In fact there are now 4.8 million adults spending more than their salary every month, while another 9 million only just break-even when their pay cheque arrives.
Dani uses her wages to pay the mortgage on her London flat, but everything else goes on her credit cards.
She explains: “I started modelling four years ago and as a result my social life really took off.
"I was invited to some of the best clubs and given VIP treatment. It really turned my head.
“I lived in Norwich at the time but spent every weekend in London.
"I couldn’t wait for the buzz of partying and being around all those celebrities.”
But looking the part became an addictive expense.
Dani would spend an average of £1,000 a month on clothes, £300 a month on her hair, and at least £300 a week on nights out drinking with her friends.
She also bought a £17,000 sports car and dressed her two Paris Hilton-style lap dogs in designer outfits.
This was all dangerously extravagant, but it didn’t stop there.
After seeing celebrities who’d had breast surgery, Dani took out a bank loan and booked herself in for a £5,000 breast enlargement.
That took her from a modest 32B to a 32DD.
And then a year later went under the knife again for a second op costing a staggering £7000.
