'There's so much more to a woman than her weight'

‘I had to stop drinking for my health’

MODEL AND ACTRESS ABI TITMUSS, 32, ON STAYING SOBER AND SLIM

I’ve finally learnt to enjoy the present. I spent a lot of my life wishing I was something else, or that I looked different, but getting older doesn’t bother me now.

I gave up drinking alcohol seven months ago and I’ve never felt better. I wanted to focus on my career and health – I couldn’t do that if I was always getting hammered.

I’m low maintenance when it comes to make-up, but I always carry Benefit Posietint in my bag. It gives my cheeks a natural peachy-pink glow.

My skin is very sensitive and expensive creams I’ve tried bring me out in spots. Now I use organic products like Ren Vita-Mineral Radiant Day Cream.

I never thought of myself as a glamour model, I just ended up doing it. But now I’m doing what I really want to do — acting.

There’s definitely no quick fix to getting – and staying – slim. You just have to eat healthily and exercise regularly.

All women feel pressure to be thin, not just those in the public eye. But there’s so much more to a woman than her weight.

The Secret Diaries of Abigail Titmuss by Abi Titmuss (Headline Review, £7.99) is out now.
