Nicky - love the vids. One of my girlfriends has the most gorgeous womanly curves, but refuses to wear anything like skinny jeans (which she'd look great in!).
Please Nicky, how do I convince her?
Hi Pixie
Try and encourage her to wear stiletto heels as this will help elongate her legs and make her look taller and slimmer. If she's quite pear shaped - high waisted skinny jeans are fantastic as they make your legs look twice as long. Team with bright voluminous top and waisted belt to draw the eye upwards.
Hope that helps?

10 years younger is like the best show on the planet!!!!!!!!!!!!
What clothes should I be buying now to stay ahead of this summer's hottest trends
Dear SATC Fan,
This season there is something for everyone. Choose from florals, stars, stripes or spots or a bit of a safari theme. Yellow, corals and peach are the colours of the season and the must have accessories are an oversized clutch and wooden stacked wedge heels.
Most importantly don't be scared to experiment and have a bit of fun with colour.

Hi Nicky
I don't know what to do. I love a handbag that's got ever yth ing in - make up, mags, hairbrush, yup, every thnig. But it gets really heavy.
Mates say it makes me look a awkward as well, cos its quit a lot to lug around.
Anyu tips on bag styles an dhow to clear out the junk?
Stacy
Hi Stacy
As much as a large handbag can look cool - it can damage your back long term. If you invest in a medium sized bag you'll be more conservative about what you carry around in it as there simply won't be space for everything.
My hand bag essentials are:-
House keys
Wallet
Mobile phone
Tissues
Lip gloss
Concealer
Mirror
Travel card
Notebook
Pen.
Give it a try, you might actually find it liberating being able to find everything in your handbag for once.

How do I know what colour suits me? I'm blonde and always wear black but I've been told I should wear bright colours. I'm rubbish with this kind of thing and don't know where to start with colours! Help me! Kate
Hi Kate
The most important thing to remember when it comes to wearing colour is DON'T be scared of it. You need to have fun and experiment with colour - everyone can wear every colour its just a matter of choosing a shade that lifts your complexion rather than drains it and you will quickly be able to tell. As a blonde I usually find bright pastels, and bold colours like ruby red, emerald green, canary yellow, bright pinks and corals and purples look fab on blonde's i.e most colours - just go for it!!
Good luck

I have a really small waist and love cinch belts. but i can never find one small enough to actually be fitted round my waist. where can i find one on the high street? i'd love a few different colours and styles.
thanks v.much,
kelly xx
Hi Kelly
Sounds like you have a problem, most women would love to have. For very petitie waists I find Reiss are quite good - their sizes come up quite small.
Otherwise Top Shop and Miss Selfridge also do skinny belts in uber small sizes - but they're not as popular as wider belts, so the choice will be smaller.
If you do find one thats a bit big usually get a few extra holes punched into the belt if I'm struggling with fit - any shoe repair places will do this. You can also easily get the end of the belt trimmed down or cut it yourself if you need to reduce the length a bit.
Hope that helps

Hiya Nicky,
I love the 50s fashion of the full skirts with fitted tops - but i can never find really cute ones. Where you you suggest? I'm 18 so can carry off some bolder/younger looks!
Thank you!
Gemma Harris
Hi Gemma
There are lots of this look around. I would suggest you start on the lower ground floor in Top Shop where there are lots of brands which have 50s style dresses and skirts. Otherwise, try Warehouse Dorothy Perkins or New Look. If you're after something a little more edgy - Arrogant Cat has some cool designs - but more expensive too.
Good luck!

Hello Nicky,
This is probably going to sound really random but...
I'd love to get some dresses made for me for the summer as I'm a really funny size and never find anything to fit properly, but I've got no idea where you can go to to get something espcially made. I live London/Essex way and don't want to have to spend an absolute fortune if I don't have to.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Miss V Harrigton
Dear V
I have a fantastic dressmaker who you should definitely try - she is based in Wandsworth though - but I'm sure could arrange to meet you somewhere in central London if more convenient. Her name is Phillippa and her number is 07929377540.
Otherwise I suggest you do a search on dressmakers in your area and meet up with them find one you like.
Hope that helps

Hi Nicky,
Where can I get super high delicate sandals this summer at a resonable price?
Jo x
Hi Jo
I would try Dune or Moda N' Pele, both have some sexy, but affordable options.

Hi Nicky,
I have a wedding to attend on 28th June, 2008, with a baby due on 17th July, 2008. I would very much appreciate some advice on what to wear as this is the first time I have had a summer baby and although am normally a size 8/10 I am sporting an enormous all out front bump.
Many thanks.
Christine
Hi Christine
Congratulations on your forthcoming child. I suggest you opt for an empire/grecian style line dress, thats stops just below the knee to keep it young. Opt for one with slightly thicker straps so you can wear a bra easily and then if you want to make it look more trendy tie a ribbon across the top of your bump which will help create the illusion of a waist.
Good luck!

Hi Nicky
I'm a woman in her fifties, a size 12 bust and eight hips. I love fashion and have lots of younger friends I want to appear stylish but not be mutton dressed as lamb. Any tips would be appreciated.
Diane
Hi Diane
To avoid looking Mutton Dressed as Lamb avoid the following:-
- too much bling / embellishment on clothes
- too much flesh on show e.g cleavage and mini skirts
- clothes that are too tight
- too much fake tan.
- too much jewellry - real or otherwise.
Do wear colour, make sure you wear clothes that are fitted and give you shape - without being clingy. An easy cost effective way to look fashionable without going mutton - is to invest in fashionable accessories.
I'm sure you don't have anything to worry about.
Nickyx
hello niki
you r really gr8! can u tell me the best ways to hide a sight beer belly have cdeveoped since my b/f left????
luv u
Hi Clare
I would suggest you wear tunic style tops and belt them on your hips to give to give you shape without clingy to your tummy area. The other option is to wear a darker colour top (black/navy) under a fitted jacket this will disguise any bulges and the jacket will emphasise your waist. Bold patterns will also help disguise.
Accessories like a long necklace or scarf will draw the eye down the body and away from your tummy area.
The worst thing you can do is wear a loose baggy, shapeless top.
Hope that helps

Hi Nicky
I'm not particlulalrly fond of my decollotage. While the rest of me is fairly petite, my collar bones aren't visible, which makes me look a bit chunky. What do you suggest I wear? I don't always want to wear high neck tops though.
Thanks
Claire
Hi Claire
High/slash neck tops/blouses would obviously help disguise your decollatage area. Otherwise opt for jackets or dresses with mandarin collars. Or accessories with necklaces and scarves to draw attention away from this area.

Help! I had a beautiful baby boy 9 weeks ago whom i adore, but what i don't adore is the way my post pregnancy body looks -i have lost some of my baby weight and realise my body will not go back to how it was and i therefore should change my style accordingly, but the clothes i used to wear don't fit and i don't know what i should be wearing to flatter my new shape, so am still resorting to the baggy tshirts, combats and maternity outfits that i feel i should be out of by now, and that really don't flatter and make the most of what i've got. Obviously money is tight at the moment and i don't want to fork out for a whole new wardrobe of clothes that don't suit me -please can you give me some tips on what to buy and what not to! Gem
HI Gem
Firstly, I'd say don't be so hard on yourself. Give your body time to bounce back to its former shape. In the meantime, I'd invest in a few colourful, patterned tunic/katan style tops which I'd team with jeans and pumps. For shape I'd belt them on them on the hips. Make sure they all have a v-neck line to soften the bust and team with long necklaces to detract from your tummy area.
Good luck and take it easy!
Nickyx
Hi Nicky
You have such an excellent talent for fashion and are always on trend. I would love to be a bit colourful this summer but I have zero confidence as my broad-shouldered, short-legged, big-waisted body gets me down. How can I inject a bit of colour into my wardrobe this summer for the best effect and at a reasonable price??
Thanks for your time!!
Lisa x
Hi Lisa
Wearing colour is easier than you think - don't be scared of it - just go for it! Once you're hooked - you'll never look back. I would invest in a wrap shirts or cardigans worn over fitted black vest tops. This will help soften the shoulders and draw in your waist. Team with boot leg / flared jeans to balance our propotions and heels to give you height. Another good shape for you would be a wrap dress - patterned will be more flattering. If you experiment with these shapes - I think you'll have more confidence to wear colour as they will compliment your proportions.
Good Luck!

Hi Nicky. I've got a really good size 8 figue...on the top of of my body. On the bottom I am still a size 8 but my legs are hideously short and very unsightly. Im not overweight at all but I have terribly chunky legs with terrible cellulite. I run every day but nothing helps. What can I do about them? Also, can you recommend any ways I can disguise them and flatter them? Thanks.
Hi Sam
If your legs are as bad as you say - which I'm sure they aren't then I'd invest in a hot pair of jeans. I personally love J-brands straight leg jeans which mold flab into curves. Always wear heels as this will make your legs look longer. Another trick is to opt for high waisted skinny jeans which will double the length of your legs and as you're so slim you'll be able to carry them off. Its very difficult to get rid of cellulite but if it reaslly bugs you - you can always try Endemology - which is supposed to be quite effective.
Hope that helps

Hi Nicky
just wanted to say i love your glasses, whatever pair you wear they look great, i wanted to ask do you like wearing glasses and are yours very strong, i wear fairly strong glasses and prefer contacts, any tips on great eyewear?
Claire
Hi Claire
Yes I love wearing glasses, I have a very high stigmatism and contact lenses don't correct my vision 100% - so I decided if I had to wear glasses I might as well accessorise with them and turn them into a key part of my look.
I'm quite lucky though as I have quite a small face which is suited to glasses - not everyone is suited to glasses. I get mine from a shop in London called SpexintheCity.co.uk and Kirkoriginals.com.
I would say though, that if you're going to wear glasses - don't play it boring and safe - go for a pair you love. That way when you do wear them at least you'll feel fantastic!
