Sally Becker has been struggling to find a look to suit her new shape since losing 3st in just three months last year. Despite going down from 12st 10lb to 9st 7lb – and dropping from a size 20 to a size 12 – she’s still been hiding herself inside baggy outfits.

Sally, a 29-year-old beautician from Shenley, Hertfordshire, admits she finds it hard to know what styles suit her new shape.

"I still pick up a size 16 in case the size 10 doesn't fit!" Sally admits. "I choose clothes that hide the fat I once had. Now I'd like to flaunt my figure, but I don't know how."

According to stylist and 10 Years Younger presenter Nicky Hambleton-Jones, Sally’s attitude is typical of people who’ve lost weight quickly.

“Their body changes but their head doesn’t have time to catch up,” Nicky explains. “They’re so used to covering up, it’s a strange sensation to draw attention to themselves.”

“Sally carries off this outfit phenomenally well – she’s stunning,” she says. In a bright purple dress – something she’d never have gone near in the past – Sally can’t believe the transformation either.

“I feel so glamorous, like I’ve got a slinkier figure and I’m ready to show it off,” she laughs. So will Sally be steering clear of outsized clothes from now on?

“I’ll definitely pick up more figure-hugging dresses and tops,” she says. “This makeover has made me feel so much better. I’m excited about going shopping to try on new things
– in the right size now!”

NICKY ON COLOUR

"If you really want to wow go for a simple dress in a bold colour, I chose this show-stopping electric purple shade because it complements Sally's dramatic new make-up - it's vixen-like!"

NICKY ON CLOTHES

"Sally has a great cleavage but this was the most flesh she'd shown in years. It was a big step for her, but she felt fab as the dress was sexy without being tarty. I added gold jewellery and lovely patent court shoes that help lengthen the legs."

NICKY ON MAKE-UP

“We went for smoky purple eyeshadow to accentuate the dove-grey/green colour of Sally’s eyes. She’s only 29 but looked 10 years older when she was a size 20, wo we wanted to have some fun and add sexiness to her look.”

NICKY ON HAIR

“Nicky has thick glossy hair but we swept it away from her face because we wanted to show off her features. In a ponytail it helps draw attention to her gorgeous eyes. We also lifted her hair up at the front and shaped it into a quiff. This gives her height – she’s only 5ft 2 – as well as looking funky.”
