She was written off as a wild, spoilt rock princess early in her teens. But Peaches Geldof likes nothing more than to prove people wrong.
“I’m not a little girl any more,” she says.
“I’m a woman now.
I’ve made some mistakes and done things that have upset my family, but I’ve also done stuff that’s made them really proud and that’s what I want to focus on.”

READ: The truth behind her overdose
It’s early in the morning and Peaches, 19, has – against all expectations – arrived at the north London studio on time and in a pleasant mood.
She’s wearing brown lace-up heels, a floral mini-dress and an ancient-looking cream animal-skin jacket.
Around her neck is a small Victorian photo frame containing a black and white portrait of her boyfriend, The Horrors musician Faris Badwin, 21.
“He’s completely gorgeous and I’m totally in love,” she says.
“He is a very calming influence and makes me happy.”
Then she pulls out a tiny gold locket and opens it up to reveal a microscopic pen and ink drawing of a noose.
“Faris made this for me.
"The noose represents the fact that I’m bound to him completely. It’s amazing. I copied it and had a tattoo put on my arm,” she says.
Her full name is Peaches Honeyblossom Michelle Charlotte Angel Vanessa Geldof.
But, more recently, it’s simply been Trouble.
Just months ago she was filmed allegedly buying drugs from the same dealer who supplied her friend, Amy Winehouse, 24, with crack cocaine.
And not long before that, a shop owner complained she had taken a dress without paying.
Peaches apologised for the mistake and paid.
If this were any other 19 year old, no one would be any the wiser.
But Peaches is rock royalty, the middle daughter of Bob Geldof and Paula Yates (who left her husband for rock star Michael Hutchence when Peaches was six).
The ensuing story is as well documented as it is tragic.
In 1997, Hutchence was found hanged in a hotel, while Paula died of an accidental heroin overdose three years later.
Peaches’ life was never going to be simple or scandal-free.
And the fact that her peroxide blonde hair and wild streak mirror those of her mother, coupled with a penchant for rock stars and partying, has been the cause of much concern.
But Peaches is unrepentant.
“There are all these stories written about how I’m breaking my dad’s curfews.
"But I’m 19, nearly 20, and I don’t live at home – I live with three girlfriends in a flat.
"I don’t have curfews,” she explains.
“My sister Pixie gets the same thing. She lives at home and she’s at school.
"She occasionally goes out during the week and on weekends she doesn’t have a curfew.
"It’s a totally normal teenager’s life.”
Peaches doesn’t want to talk about problems today.
She wants to talk about her interests – fashion and music.
She’s currently fronting the iTunes Festival 2008 for ITV2 which sees her introducing and interviewing bands like The Zutons and N*E*R*D.
The comparisons between her and Paula, who shot to fame presenting iconic music show The Tube, are inevitable.
“I know I look like her in some ways, but I don’t dress like my mum and we have different hair,” Peaches shrugs.
“Obviously there are similarities – we share the same genes.
"And I know people are going to say I’m following in her footsteps.
"But that’s such an obvious thing to say, and it’s too easy a comparison to make.
"My mum’s style of presenting was very, very flirty.
"I’m flirty, but no way near as flirty as she was.”
She pauses before adding: “I do think my mum was a great presenter.
"She was sexy and flirty, but there was this innocence too.”
In many ways, Peaches behaves exactly like a typical teenager.
She can be spiky, often avoiding eye contact and tapping her foot furiously when difficult subjects are broached.
And there is nothing she doesn’t have an opinion on, from Trinny and Susannah: “They make women feel bad rather than good.
"Who cares if you love a pair of trousers that don’t flatter your bum?
"Wear them because you love them”, to Victoria Beckham: “I’d love to scruff her up a bit.
"She’s too pristine and clinical.
"I’d like to see her working a grunge look!”
Weirdly, she then veers on to Richard Madeley and Louis Theroux: “My secret crushes.
"I can’t explain that. Maybe I just like geeks.”
And not even Madonna is safe: “She’s an icon, but why does she have to try so hard?
"That leotard look was bad.”
Peaches says the biggest misconception of her is that she’s a diva.
“I read this story about me being refused entrance to a club and shouting: ‘I’m Bob Geldof’s daughter.’
"Anyone who knows me would know I’d never do that.
"I was raised on a mix of rules and freedom.
"I never act like a diva, and I never will.”
She does, however, connect with girls her own age. Particularly when it comes to fashion.
On clothing website ASOS, Peaches and her sister Pixie, 17, are among the five most popular celebrities.
So much so that Peaches has designed her own collection in association with her favourite label, PPQ.
“I’m very interested in fashion.
“I love the way you can express yourself through your clothes. I’m quite schizophrenic with mine.
"I love vintage, I like some high street. I like to mix everything up.
"My style is very girlie, sometimes goth romantic, sometimes very monochrome.
"Most of my dresses cost a tenner at markets.”
Her style icons are ’60s legend Edie Sedgwick, singer Courtney Love, and her little sister Pixie, all of whose style will be reflected in her collection.
“Pixie is amazing – she has great style.
"When I lived at home we would occasionally disagree over borrowing each other’s stuff, but not any more.
“Our style is pretty different. I think I’m a lot safer. She’s very edgy and cool.
"She’s going to be a real style icon of the future.”
There is a sweetness to Peaches that she almost fights to hide.
It comes out when she’s talking about her sister, her boyfriend, her father, even her hair.
“I hate my fringe. At the moment it’s got a big hole in it because a friend cut it, so I just pin it back.
"I take about five minutes to get ready to go out and then hours on my hair. It drives my boyfriend mad.
“In general I don’t obsess about my looks. I think I’m OK. I have long legs, which are pretty good.
"My boobs are a nice size and very perky. I’m a 34B so I’m happy with that.”
Her phone rings and she takes the call, then apologises politely for the interruption.
Her future plans include more presenting, working with a band, and more writing.
Her aim is to be known for who she is, not who her parents are.
It’s not an easy option, but Peaches is one tough cookie.
“You just have to keep moving on and doing what you think is good.
"I’ve got so many things coming up in the future that are very exciting. I can’t wait.”
