JESSE MCCARTNEY, 20, WHO PENNED LEONA LEWIS’ NO1 HIT BLEEDING LOVE, REVEALS WHY HE’D RATHER HAVE AN ENGLISH ROSE THAN A PERMA-TANNED BARBIE GIRL

I’m an American guy, and I love my country. But when it comes to our women, I’m not so proud.

I live in Los Angeles and the girls there may as well be battery-operated.

Bleached blonde hair, perma-tans and gravity-defying breasts. It’s as though they’ve just stepped off a factory production line.

Not only do they all look the same, they are super-duper shallow, which I find such a turn-off.

Every time someone walks into a room at a party, the Barbie girl types turn their heads – they’re always checking out what else is going on – so spending time in Britain has been refreshing as you girls are the epitome of cool.

For starters, your accent is pretty damn sexy.

I love how it sounds so ‘proper’ compared to the trashy drawl of American women.

It makes you sound more intelligent, cultured and well educated too – and that’s never a bad thing.

British women also have a natural look that definitely works for me – and most other guys I know.

There is nothing sexier than a girl with tied back hair and minimal make-up, wearing nothing more than jeans and a tight T-shirt.

It’s not true that guys are turned on by fake tan, t*ts and a**, but unfortunately girls in LA think it’s a hot look.

Boys I know much prefer the white pasty skin of British girls and adore the fact you think that makes you an English rose!

When it comes to fashion, you ladies are streets ahead of American girls.

You look effortlessly chic, unlike the try-hards in Hollywood who obsess about whether they are wearing the right fashion trends, and dedicate their lives to finding the ‘It’ item that will only be hot for a week.

Brit girls know how to wear their clothes. You see a lot of LA girls struggling to walk down the street in tight outfits and stupidly high heels.

If anyone knows how to do casual, it’s you Brits – and you always look sexy in your little pumps and trainers.

But of all the gorgeous British girls, my favourite is Leona Lewis, who I wrote the song Bleeding Love for.

She’s beautiful and has the whole package going on, especially her height [she’s 5ft 7in].

If I was trying to impress her, I’d cook for her because food is definitely the way to both men’s and women’s hearts.

I find a woman who can cook very sexy.

I’ve always cooked with my ex-girlfriends and it’s one of my favourite things to do.

So girls, my message to you is get busy in that kitchen and we can take it from there!

Jesse’s single Leavin’ is out June 9. His album Departure is released on June 16.

Are you a Brit chick with bags of style? Would you rather be a bronzed goddess or an English rose? What do you think men prefer? Is it better to look natural or take a lot of time over your appearance?
