GLAMMED UP V DRESSED DOWN

When pictures of Victoria Beckham in a T-shirt and boyfriend jeans hit Fabulous HQ, we had to check our contact lens prescriptions. Surely this was some Posh imposter and not La Beckham, whose glamometer is permanently set to high? But fashionistas are embracing the dress-down trend, so we asked TV presenter Nick Knowles, 45, The Apprentice contestant Raef Bjayou, 27, and celebrity stylist Mark Heyes, 31, to decide which look best suits these celebrity fashion queens

SIENNA MILLER, 26

Nick: “Sienna’s a style chameleon. She looks as hot walking down the red carpet as she does hanging out at a festival or walking her dogs but, for me, she’s sexiest when she’s off duty.”
Verdict: Dressed down

Raef: “Sienna is the perfect picture of understated elegance in this red dress, but she resembles a hillbilly in that playsuit and pirate boots combo.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Mark: “The festival look has been thrown together, but the red dress is flirty, fun, and exudes subtle glamour. Her natural beauty dazzles on the red carpet.”
Verdict: Glammed up

CHERYL COLE, 25

Nick: “The yellow dress is flirty and sexy, just like Cheryl, but the tracksuit definitely has a touch of Vicky Pollard about it.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Raef: “I love the simple dress and I think she’s picked perfect accessories. But Cheryl, purlease, tracksuits should only be worn to the gym.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Mark: “The dress is short and sexy, and Cheryl can carry it off. But she looks chavvy
in the tracksuit.”
Verdict: Glammed up

VICTORIA BECKHAM, 34

Nick: “I like Victoria’s polished look, but it’s a welcome change to see her dressed so casually. She looks surprisingly hot.”
Verdict: Dressed down

Raef: “I like a lady to look like a lady. I fully approve of Victoria’s red-carpet couture, but in this baggy outfit, she looks like she’s robbed a teenage boy’s wardrobe.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Mark: “Her Marc Jacobs dress is far too fussy. Victoria’s casual look is refreshing and it reminds me how naturally pretty she is.”
Verdict: Dressed down

KATE BECKINSALE, 34

Nick: “Kate has an amazing figure. I still dream about her in that black catsuit in Underworld! She looks great in anything, but looks more confident dressed down.”
Verdict: Dressed down

Raef: “With her English-rose complexion, she looks a bit washed out in this yellow dress, but glamorous nonetheless. Jeans are unbecoming on a girl.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Mark: “She’s opted for a brave colour with this dress, but her casual look is cool and sexy.”
Verdict: Dressed down

SARAH JESSICA PARKER, 43

Nick: “The feminine dress and quirky hat are Carrie through and through. When she’s not trying to be a style icon, comfort and casualness are clearly SJP’s priorities and it works.”
Verdict: Dressed down

Raef: “The dress is elegant and understated, but the jeans are horrid. Urgh.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Mark: “Just like Carrie she’s stylish with an eccentric touch when dressing up, but dressed down those jeans are drowning her tiny frame.”
Verdict: Glammed up

Does your man prefer you to glam up or dress down? What do you feel more comfortable wearing? What’s your favourite outfit? Are you somebody who always wears heels to boost your confidence or are you a flats-only kind of girl? Do you choose comfort or glamour?
